Diego Costa signs for Atletico Madrid Diego Costa's transfer speculation has finally come to an end after Atletico confirmed they have reached a principle agreement with Chelsea Football Club. Costa will be officially registered on 1 Jan 2018 The striker went AWOL after learning he was not part of Antonio Conte's plan. His desire was to only play for Atletico Madrid and rejected a few clubs in the summer transfer window . Now Diego Costa will be reunited with coach Simeone and former team-mates Koke, Filipe Luis ,Godin and others.

Atlético beat Liverpool to lift Audi cup 2017. Atlético Madrid won the Audi cup, beating Liverpool in penalty shootouts. After regular 90' time the score was tied 1-1, thus taking the game to decisive penalty shootouts. Keidi Bare gave atleti the lead with a header after Correa hit the cross-bar. Later Firminho tied the match from the spot kick. In the penalty shootouts Moya saved Henderson's penalty and Filipe Luis bagged the winner.

First pre season game ends in a goalless draw. Atlético Madrid played out a draw in their first pre season game against Mexican club Toluca FC. The game was played to mark 100 years of Deportivo Toluca.  The team showed some positive vibes ahead of a new season. All the senior players returned except Saúl, who featured in Euro U-21. Despite a transfer ban, Atlético's summer looks successful, with Antoine Griezmann staying and extending his contract. Atléti fanboy Fernando Torres scored twice as Atléti won their last ever match at the Vicente calderón stadium. The atmosphere was electric before kickoff and as Fernando Torres struck a double in the first period, it was a fairy tale opening for Atléti family.  Torres could not have written a better script. Two goals in the first 11 minutes ensured there was a  fiesta  at the Calderon. He was  subbed on the hour, but the ovation he got was as loud as they come and many fans shed their tears.  Legend Tiago played his last game for rojiblancos. Chelsea win premier league for the second time in 3 years Chelsea were crowned the premier league champions after they beat West brom 1-0 . Michy Batshuayi scored a late goal which was enough to give Chelsea their deserved title. However Batshuayi was the unlikely Hero as he anonymous through out the season, but scored a historic goal for the blues. Antonio Conte has now tasted success in his first season in England. He'll be trying to make a double by clinching the FA Cup.

Atlético Madrid trash Las palmas by displaying high-5 performance. Atletico Madrid beat Las palmas after a brilliant start with three goals in opening 18 minutes. Kevin Gameiro struck twice and Saul headed the third goal to take a 3-0 lead at half time in  Estadio Gran Canaria  . In the final quarter of the game Thomas scored his first goal of this season and t he last goal was scored by Torres after a good play initiated by Thomas and Filipe Luis provided the assist.  A victory was important for atletico, as they had lost to Villareal at home in the previous game. Atlético Madrid enter their 3rd champions league semi finals in 4 years. Saúl Ñiguez scored for Atléti as they drew 1-1 against Leicester and progress to semifinals on 2-1 aggregate. The midfielder headed in 26th minute to give Atlético crucial away goal advantage. Jamie Vardy equalized for foxes in the second half and the match ended 1-1 with glory for Atléti. Saúl celebrating his goal against Leicester Atlético reach their third UCL semis in 4 consecutive years. The visitors ended foxes fairytale by qualifying on away goal advantage. Atlético Madrid celebrate día del niño with a victory. Atlético might live in the shadows of Real Madrid, but they do have a large fan base. Los rojiblancos dedicated the game to their little fans by celebrating children's day - día del niño. Many cute little Atléti fans showed up at the Calderon in red and white uniform of Atlético. They showed how passionate they are towards their club. Yannick Ferriera Carrasco scored twice and Filipe Luis scored once which gave Atléti a comfortable victory over Osasuna. Carrasco scored from outside the box just before half hour mark and he headed his second goal just after start of second half. Carrasco celebrates his strike. Antoine Griezmann gives Atlético narrow advantage vs Leicester. Antoine Griezmann scored from the spot kick for Atléti, as they lead 1-0 in the quarters of the champions League, with second leg to be played at King power stadium on 19th April. Albrighton fouled Griezmann and the ref awarded penalty for Atlético Madrid. The goal took Griezmann to 24 goals this season with 2 goals from last 2 games. Atlético players celebrate the only goal of the game  Leicester City's Jamie Vardy was isolated throughout the game. The visitors did not have much of the ball and created very few chances. Diego Simeone's Atlético have reached the quarter finals of the champions league for the fourth consecutive time. They have won last 6 of their 8 champions league game. Atlético have also kept 15 clean sheets of their last 17 games at Vicente Calderón Stadium. Today they take on Leicester City in the quarters at Vicente Calderón Stadium and the second leg will be played at King power stadium next week. Antoine Griezmann ignites la liga title race. Madrid derby, one of the biggest games in football ends in a 1-1 draw as both the teams shares the points. Eden Hazard's double takes Chelsea a step towards glory. Eden hazard fired the league leaders Chelsea to an important victory over Pep's Man City yesterday at  Stamford Bridge . Hazard opened the score at the 10th minute of the game, and sixteen minutes later Sergio Aguero leveled the score to 1-1.  In 35th minute Hazard failed to score from the spot-kick, but thanks to Willy as the ball rebounded and Hazard restored the lead for Chelsea. Finally, the match ended 2-1 with smiles all around  Stamford Bridge . Hazard after scoring the second goal. “Another step, a big step, against a great team,” Conte said. “We must think that Tottenham could win all their games. We are playing a great season but to win the title there is a long way to go.” Guardiola added: “We created enough to score goals. It’s our problem. Filipe Luis guides atlético madrid to fifth successive la liga win. Atlético Madrid left back Filipe Luis netted his second goal this season, after finishing Fernando Torres's assist. It was a convincing victory for los colchoneros and they are in a winning momentum before facing Real Madrid in the Madrid Derby on saturday. Atléti dominated the game and created chances.  "Other than the opening 15 minutes when they dominated the ball, we imposed our tempo, pressed well high up the pitch and created chances," said Atletico boss Diego Simeone. Chelsea FC 7 points clear despite losing to crystal palace. A seven-point lead with nine games to play ensures that Chelsea remain firm favourites to win the title. Chelsea suffered a 1-2 defeat to big Sam's Crystal palace on saturday. However there was no sign of dip in performance or form of Chelsea football club and Anonio Conte will view the defeat as a wake-up call. The international break might have played a role in Chelsea's defeat, where Costa and Thibaut Courtois suffered minor injuries. Fernando Torres assists twice as Atlético beat Málaga to move third in la liga. Atlético Madrid sealed a comfortable 2 goals victory at La Rosaleda Stadium. Koke and Filipe Luis scored the goals set up by Fernando Torres. Torres made an impressive turn with the ball, and Koke finished to give Los colchoneros the lead.
