Diego Costa's Stellar Performance helps Atléti beat Real Madrid 4 - 2
After two hard defeats in the champions league final, it was a very important game for Atlético Madrid to overcome their arch rivals Real Madrid. With their heads held high, they did so by finally defeating Real in an European competition final.
It all started from the kick off as Diego Costa scored from a tight angle to give Atléti with the lead. Later as Atlético sat back, Karim Benzema equallized.
In the second half Real Madrid came back to take the lead after scoring from the penalty spot, but Costa restored the score to 2 - 2. As the score remained level, the match was taken to extra time.

In the first period of ET, Saúl Ñíguez scored a screamer as Atléti took the lead for the second time before Koke sealed the victory by scoring the 4th goal.

In the second period of ET, Atletico managed to keep the opponents at their bay and managed a comfortable victory against Real Madrid.
The new boys Thomas Lemar and Rodrigo were amazing. Lemar was seen settling very well with his new club, tracking back to do his defensive work and adding a spark with his dribbling skills. Another new addition Rodrigo had a classy debut, who used his body to protect the ball and played with great intelligence.
