Antoine Griezmann ignites la liga title race.

Madrid derby, one of the biggest games in football ends in a 1-1 draw as both the teams shares the points. Antoine Griezmann cancelled Pepe's opener to help Atléti retain 3rd place as well as giving Barcelona hope in the title race.

The first half ended goalless, thanks to Stefan Savic for stopping Cristiano Ronaldo's goal with one of the greatest goal line clearance of all time. Jan oblak made a couple of impressive saves to keep real madrid goalless.
In the second half, Pepe headed home the lead from Toni Kroos free-kick. After giving away the lead Atléti started to attack. Fernando Torres was denied by Navas and Griezmann saw his amazing over head bicycle kick stopped by the real keeper.
                
In 85' minute Griezmann scored for the rojiblancos, and dedicated his goal to his daughter who turns one year old today.

  Atlético are currently placed 3rd with 62 points.
  Next they face Leicester City in the Championship league quarters.

Atletico Madrid gives Vicente calderón an emotional farewell

Atléti fanboy Fernando Torres scored twice as Atléti won their last ever match at the Vicente calderón stadium. The atmosphere was electric before kickoff and as Fernando Torres struck a double in the first period, it was a fairy tale opening for Atléti family.  Torres could not have written a better script. Two goals in the first 11 minutes ensured there was a  fiesta  at the Calderon. He was  subbed on the hour, but the ovation he got was as loud as they come and many fans shed their tears.  Legend Tiago played his last game for rojiblancos. He wore the captain's armband.  Scenes before kick-off  The first goal at the calderón was scored by Luis Aragones. Angel Correa closed the chapter by scoring the last ever goal. Tiago played his last game for atléti. Torres kisses the badge to bid adios. Gabi and Koke perform their final farewell to atléti Now that the curtain at Vicente calderón has closed, Atléti will kick start their next season at Wanda Metropo
